crazy day. i spent my morning looking for lice and staking out an apartment with four officers from the sheriff's department. i love my job! tonight daniel is coming over so hang out with me while i do things like my laundry. it's my first night at home all week. sigh. it's time for that. but it's been a good week. last night we spent some quality dutch blitz time with matt and priscilla and blaze. matt and priscilla are getting married two weeks after daniel and i. i think the landing place is in jeopardy of getting a "young marrieds" group. (for the benefit of those of you who centered your high school social life around the church youth group...) i'm working on rebuilding the sidebar. take special note of brazil and my friend nic. definitely beautiful stuff!

|so i finally gave in and changed my template. don't worry - i'll get those links back up there... it seems i've gotten busy living life instead of writing about it. columbus continues to grow on me, and life with daniel continues to deepen. this past weekend, we moved him into our first apartment. it's kind of cookie-cutter, but i think it's going to end up being pretty homey...also, i think we've finally found a place to get married. columbus mennonite church seems to be promising. i still love seminary. but i've been a bit of a slacker this week. our tuesday night church gets better every week, as people step up into their giftings and roles... back to work!

|my amazing niece abby bell has a blog now! read it.
a couple of quick random highlights from the last week to hold you over until my next post (which i'm sure you're all anxiously counting the moments until it appears...) 1. i am leading a brief discussion on the sermon on the mount at underground seminary tonight. 2. the vineyard central building has been condemned. anyone know a good place to marry on september 4? 3. i had a strange dream about vincent d'onofrio (brilliant law & order: criminal intent detective) last week. he helped me rescue some malnourished, abused children from a locked basement. 4. daniel fox is even more brilliant than vincent. 5. daniel and i took a last minute road trip to cincinnati this weekend. hooplah!
i pinky swear that i will write a new, substantial post tonight, even if it means i don't get any sleep.

|my head feels like it's going to explode, and my nose seems to have gotten a mind of its own. but, cold/allergies aside, life is great! i'm just starting to realize that daniel and i have to plan a wedding in four months - that can be a bit overwhelming, from what i've heard, but we really just want a big party with God and our friends, so i'm not too worried. and when it comes down to it, we really need to be preparing for the marriage more than that one day. but it is interesting to already be feeling the girly/anti-girly aspects of me go at it. so, people are asking for details....i found out inadveratntly last week that daniel had a ring, and when we were in florida, i couldn't keep from telling him that i knew it. (secrets are hard to keep between the two of us.) he had been planning to propose on our trip, but i think my freak-out a couple of weeks ago scared him. silly me! anyway, florida was beatuiful and romantic and very good for our communication and an overall solidification of our stability. so tuesday night we had our friends phil and sarah over to daniel's house for dinner. after dinner we planned to go on a walk at the park, but first i went into his room for a minute. he asked if i wanted to see something, and i said something like, "sure! can i have it?" then he was on his knee, asking me to marry him. i said yes. after that, we told phil, sarah and sharon, and went out to have our walk and play pool. it was all very natural and simple and perfect. the biggest surprise was the ring itself. easter weekend, daniel and i went to cincinnati and made a trip to the art museum. in the gift shop, we saw a beautiful, simple, classy ring that had been made by a local custom jeweler in clifton - a neighborhood that i've spent a lot of time in during the past six years. when we saw it, we both knew right away that it was perfect. the museum didn't have my size, so we went to clifton to the actual jeweler's studio. he also didn't have my size, but sat down to discuss it. at that point, i left to go to a bookstore. daniel later told me that after i left, he got a bad vibe about the jeweler, and didn't get anything. i believed him, until i got the perfect ring! now i must get back to work. have a happy day, dear ones!
